I'm a huge fan of rhythm-games (pretty good at Taiko no Tatsujin, decent at Osu! And Pop'n) and I want to get into Beatmania, kinda wanna play in smaller local tournaments since there is no Taiko-community/scene where I live.I am interested in playing Beatmania at home with an Arcade Style Controller, there are no arcades where I live and I only have played Beatmania once on an arcade but I really enjoyed it.Any tips for beginners?
I've been thinking of buying and maybe connect it to a PS2 with Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress on a CRT tv. Is that a sensible plan?
Otherwise could I play Beatmania on PC?I'd be happy to hear your opinions. It's a softmod of sorts that runs off of a PS2 memory card. Combine this with and you can easily run backups. It doesn't allow you to run legit copies in a different region PS2 though, for that a swap disc is probably the easiest if you can find one.If you got any friends with a modded PS2 they can easily create a memory card for you. If you by any chance happen to live in Sweden I'd be happy make one. There used to be a list of people on the Free McBoot forums who did so aswell but I'm not sure how up to date it is.If you want to play newer stuff LR2 is probably the easiest way to go unless you really want to run AC data for some reason.
